2007 AMARONE della VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO DOC “CAPITEL DE’ ROARI” Luigi Righetti, Veneto. 75.00. Amarone’s don’t have to be expensive to be delicious. This one can definitely hold its own. It has a nose of raisin, vanilla, dark cherry and spice. It’s creamy mouthfeel is highlighted by flavors of raisins, blackberry and vanilla. It has a really long, lovely finish.

Clean, very powerful and complex on the nose, soft and dry on the palate with typical baked cherry flavors mixed with hints of cocoa and cinnamon. Long finish and full-bodied with soft tannins.
